TikTok Shop High-Ticket Sales Surge as Above-Ground Pools Climb 125% Year-Over-Year
Above-ground pools and spas sold through TikTok Shop posted 125% year-over-year growth in the past 12 months, five times the rate of other marketplaces, according to data shared by Spreetail, a multi-brand seller and fulfillment partner on the platform. Outdoor furniture sales climbed 275% and lawn-and-garden products rose nearly 150% over the same period, signaling that consumers are moving beyond impulse beauty and apparel buys to complete high-consideration purchases on TikTok Shop.
The shift marks a structural change for a marketplace that launched in the United States in September 2023 and has historically skewed toward sub-$50 fashion and wellness items. Amit Dodeja, CMO at Spreetail, said the company's average TikTok Shop price point now runs four to five times higher than the platform's overall average. Pools sold through Spreetail's brand partners start around $150; saunas begin near $2,000. "Consumers feel TikTok Shop is far more trustworthy given that the marketplace has matured over time," Dodeja said in a statement to Modern Retail.
A study commissioned by Envision Horizons, a full-service Amazon agency, surveyed 1,030 respondents and found that 51% had purchased at least one item priced $100 or above on TikTok Shop. Laura Meyer, founder and CEO of Envision Horizons, noted an uptick in client inquiries this year about whether to launch on the platform.

Platform Infrastructure Upgrades Drive Fulfillment Confidence
TikTok shortened Spreetail's delivery windows from five days to two days earlier in 2026, a change Dodeja cited as the biggest operational improvement in the past year. The platform's Fulfilled by TikTok (FBT) service—which mirrors Amazon FBA by handling warehousing, packing, and shipping—remains in early rollout and presents friction points for brands managing bulky inventory.
Chad Keller, founder of DTC sleep brand Mellow Sleep, said TikTok's two-business-day dispatch requirement for domestic orders isn't always feasible for smaller operators shipping comforters and pillows. His brand launched on TikTok Shop in fall 2025, just months after the company's founding, and now splits fulfillment between internal operations and FBT based on customer location. Mellow Sleep's MarshMellow comforter, priced starting at $85, and CloudAlign pillow, retailing for $50, have held the number-one rank in their respective TikTok Shop categories since launch, according to the company.
"I would also like to see the fees within TikTok Shop become more simplified, especially as brands delve deeper into FBT," Keller said. "But it seems TikTok is willing to work with brands and actually take feedback to change things."
TikTok provides early-adopter brands with more direct account-representative support than Meta currently offers at comparable scale, Keller added. The platform does not publicly disclose FBT fee structures or commission rates, leaving sellers to negotiate terms case-by-case.
Creator-Driven Conversions Replace Discovery-Only Behavior
Mellow Sleep reports earning more than 50,000 reviews from organic creators and over 20,000 five-star customer reviews since its fall 2025 debut. One creator working with the brand scaled monthly gross merchandise volume from $80,000 to $1.5 million over a 10-month period, according to Keller. "If you have a great product that your creators believe in and consumers respond well to, the channel kind of manages itself," he said.
Dodeja attributed Spreetail's performance in part to TikTok's video format enabling product education that static listings on Amazon or Shopify cannot replicate. "The visual nature of TikTok is actually helping a lot of consumers understand what these products are," he said. Categories requiring assembly or installation—outdoor furniture, above-ground pools, backyard saunas—benefit from creator walkthroughs that compress the research phase consumers traditionally conduct across multiple sites.
The entry of established brands including Pacsun and Skims onto TikTok Shop in late 2025 and early 2026 added legitimacy to the marketplace, Keller noted. Mellow Sleep did not initially plan to build a "TikTok brand," instead viewing the platform "as an opportunity to build a consumer brand through authentic creator content and community trust," according to the founder.
Spreetail's next operational priority centers on managing multi-brand accounts at scale: systematizing creator relationships, standardizing content briefs, and optimizing commission rates and product-sampling budgets to maintain unit economics as the platform matures.
What Happens Next
Independent operators weighing TikTok Shop expansion should model fulfillment costs against two-day dispatch windows and evaluate whether FBT's black-box fee structure beats self-fulfillment margins for products above $85. Brands selling items that require visual explanation—assembly-heavy furniture, multi-step beauty tools, technical homeware—gain an edge over static-listing competitors, but only if they budget for creator sampling and sustained commission payouts. Spreetail's 5X growth rate versus other marketplaces suggests early distribution advantage, though the math flips negative if Amazon-comparable fees arrive once TikTok Shop exits its land-grab phase. Sellers running lean should test one SKU with proven organic reach before committing inventory to FBT warehouses.
Brands already operating Shopify DTC stores can list on TikTok Shop without platform exclusivity, maintaining pricing control and customer data on their own checkout while using TikTok as a top-of-funnel traffic source. The 51% of surveyed users willing to complete $100+ purchases on-platform removes a prior assumption that TikTok traffic converts only after clicking through to external storefronts. For dropshippers evaluating profitable niches, homeware categories now carry proof of demand at price points that support 40%+ gross margins even after platform fees and creator commissions—a threshold most sub-$30 impulse products cannot clear.
